Radiology (X-Ray)

We are equipped with modern digital radiography (x-ray) and ultrasound equipment.

Our high quality digital x-ray equipment allows for instant views of radiographs on our computer screens. It is often a valuable aid to our veterinarians in the diagnosis of many disorders.  If necessary, images can be instantly sent to an off-site board-certified radiologist for further review.  In most cases obtaining radiographs does not require general anesthesia but some instances may require light sedation. Pelvic radiographs for Penn-Hip certification do require anesthesia.

Ultrasound is a valuable imaging tool that also allows us to visualize our patients internal organs.  It utilizes sound waves to produce images of organs in the chest or abdomen.  This is especially helpful in diagnosing pregnancy, evaluating the heart, liver, kidneys, bladder, intestines, adrenal glands, and pancreas.   In most cases ultrasound does not require general anesthesia.
