Surgery

This is our state of the art surgical facility. We provide a wide range of surgical procedures including neutering, ovariohysterectomy (spay), feline declaws, and other soft tissue surgery and orthopedic procedures. Surgical procedures are performed under sterile conditions using medical supplies and equipment that are often used in human surgery rooms.

 Of special interest are:

Laser surgery. We use laser surgery for most procedures, which decreases pain and bleeding while promoting healing. Click here for details.

Computerized anesthesia delivery. Our Engler A.D.S. 1000 unit automatically provides gas anesthesia and assists the surgical patient’s breathing while under anesthesia.

Anesthetic monitoring.  All anesthetized patients are monitored with pulse oximetry or non-invasive Doppler blood pressure monitors.

Autoclave steam sterilization. All surgical instruments are sterilized by steam or gas sterilization and strict aseptic procedures are followed to avoid infection of our surgical patients.

Radiocautery unit assists our doctors in surgery by offering additional control of bleeding during surgery.

Surgical suction pump assists our doctors during certain procedures.

Suture material. We maintain a large inventory of different types and sizes of suture material to allow our doctors to meet the needs of each surgical patient.

Surgical instruments. We maintain a large inventory of surgical instrument packs to allow our doctors to meet the needs of each surgical patient.
